The topic of today is “travelling on business”.
Task 1
Read the information below to get the general idea:
Every day thousands of people travel on business all over the world.
Early morning they start their endless journeys to various remote destinations , embarking on planes, taking trains or driving corporate cars. Some of them suffer from jet-lag, others from headaches, but all of them are on a constant move from one place to another.
According to a survey conducted by American Express Global Business Travel, business travellers seek balance during their work-related journeys to feel good and comfortable. In order to keep stress-free the majority of frequent flyers combat their fatigue by drinking plenty of water, which is particularly important in-flight. Nearly 50% of respondents stretch on the plane and attempt making exercises of some sort. Those travelling by car or by train admit to supplementing their diets with vitamins. More than 20% of the total decide to avoid drinking alcohol and to limit the amount of food intake. Being seated next to a child or in the vicinity of a restroom is quoted as the worst place to sit on an aircraft. Some airlines are already introducing child-free cabins to ensure passengers a quiet and relaxing flight. Others just recommend being “patient”, but still, the best idea to make your business trip less troublesome is to travel light, and where possible, to carry a hand-luggage only.
